And The Award For World's Worst Blogger Goes To.......

First of all, I need to say how devastated I am for the loss of lives in Oklahoma today. I am deeply saddened by this tragedy and know that God has a plan. My prayers are with everyone affected.

Alright, now onto less serious crap.

I am the worst blogger...ever. Seriously. The first step to solving a problem is admitting you have one, right? I suck. There. I am going to work on that.

This past week wasn't too eventful. We, like everyone else on earth, celebrated Mother's Day last Sunday. My husband got to go to church with us then had to go to work until 10pm. He had to be back at work the next morning at 8am, so he just stayed at my grandma's in Irving, since he works in Colleyville. I'm only a little bitter. It's not his fault, but he works a TON, and the hour drive both ways doesn't help either. He keeps the gas companies in business, people. Anyway, he got me some chocolate covered strawberries (yum!) and had the kids decorate/sign a card for me. After he left for work, the kids and I went to lunch at Macaroni Grill with my parents, brother, and sister-in-law. Emma had her last soccer game Thursday and scored two goals! Now, as much as I would rather her be playing a real sport (ahem, Basketball), she does pretty well at soccer. I guess I can deal with her playing that...for now. Friday, we had Emma's end-of-the-school-year party and she had a great time. After that, we loaded up the car, picked up John from work, and drove to Little Rock to see our best friends, Scott, Amanda, and McKinnley. Kinnley and Emma could not have been more psyched to see each other, and I was so happy to be able to spend time with our friends who bailed on us for Arkansas. Seriously though, who leaves Texas to live in Arkansas?? I'm only a little bitter about that also...
These next few days will be exciting because Emma has her field day tomorrow morning, then she is graduating from Kindergarten tomorrow night. It makes me so sad to think about my baby graduating from anything. I mean, wasn't she just born? I keep telling her to stay in Kindergarten and keep being my baby forever. To which she replies "Mommy, I have to go to 1st grade, but I will always be your little baby." Heart = melted. I'm glad I'm recording those words so I can read them to her when she is 16 and remind her that she used to be sweet.

Wednesday, we get to go to my doctor and get an ultrasound! It's been almost 11 weeks since I have seen the baby and I'm way happy to see him/her.
Thursday is our last softball game (weather permitting). I'm actually a little ok with the season being over. It's getting harder and much less attractive for me to bend over...and run. I like love playing though, so I will be looking forward to the Fall season.

OK, so I hope this was long enough to make up for the gap between my posts. I will (hopefully) post later on this week when I have a lot more to talk about and more pictures to post. Don't act like you're not looking forward to it. :)

  1. Kari. Why is Emma playing SOCCER?? JK :-) Kind of. But seriously. Do I need to schedule an intervention?

I'm sorry John has to work so much...we've been dealing with that for several months now and hopefully it's almost over. Until next year!
